FAQs

Why should I choose Mama on the Move?

Mama on the Move is a complete health and fitness programme designed specifically for preganat and postnatal women.
We have created fitness and Pilates workouts that are safe and effective for mothers and mums to be. The workouts are designed to take less than 15 minutes and they can be done anywhere, as long as you have a tablet or phone and internet access.

We’ve also included information about how to exercise safely during pregnancy and the postnatal period, with advice on common issues such as diastasis recti and pelvic girdle pain.

Our programme includes nutrition guides and habit coaching to help you adopt long term healthy eating habits and learn about how to fuel your body to maximize your energy levelds.

We help with motivation too. Our facebook groups provide support from Laura and Tamsin, along with tips, advice, inspiration, and success stories.

Workout

How many workouts should I do a day or a week?

We try to encourage you to complete three fitness and three Pilates workouts a week. If you can't do that many, that's completely fine.

What is the equipment required to do the workouts?

We recommend using dumbbells (their weight will depend on your level of fitness) but you could substitute these for water bottles. The Pilates workouts also require the use of a resistance band and Pilates ball, but you can use a pair of tights and a cushion in their place. We recommend you use a room big enough to enable you to workout without stumbling onto furniture or other objects. Some of the workouts will require you to lie down on the floor, so a carpet or a mat may come handy. We recommend that you keep a water bottle handy – as it is very important to hydrate when you work out!

What should I wear to do the workouts?

You should wear comfortable breathable clothing and trainers that will enable you to move around freely. We recommend you do not work out barefoot.

Eat

I’m gluten-free/dairy-free/have food allergies, is this programme suitable for me?

Mama on the Move does not currently have a specific plan for people suffering from food intolerances/allergies. It is something we are looking into for the future. This said, whilst the recipes on the service do not cater for specific diets, the food habits can still be followed by simply selecting foods that are appropriate for you when creating your own meals.

Social

What is the social section?
